A few words
Jon Chandler is a law enforcement officer with the Rock Port Missouri Police Department. He grew up in Bucklin, Missouri where he also graduated high school. From a young age, Jon knew he wanted to be a police officer. He has always been drawn to helping others and wanted to achieve that through law enforcement.
In 2011 Jon enrolled in the Missouri Western State University Law Enforcement Academy. Six months later he received his post certification. Officer Chandler began his law enforcement career by accepted a position at the Clinton County Missouri Sheriffs office. Over the next few years he would go on to work as a Corporal for the Holt, Missouri Police Department, a Deputy Marshal for the Pineville, Missouri Marshal’s Office, a Deputy Marshal for the Noel, Missouri Marshal’s, and a Patrol Officer for the Rock Port, Missouri Police Department where he currently resides.

Officer Chandler is passionate about helping others with their mental health because the effects of mental health reach more than a family, understanding mental health and knowing how to fix the issue can assist in the future of peoples ideals of people with mental health issues, even the ones that cannot be seen.
Jon is an active member of the Missouri Funeral Assistance Team. The Missouri Funeral Assistance Team goes to all Line of Duty Deaths and assists the family and agency on planning the funeral and helping the agency fill in on schedules from other departments to give the agency time to grieve as well. This is important to Jon because it is helping other agencies and people in need. Jon is honored to be a part of this team.
Officer Chandler has received special training on many topics including but not limited to suicide awareness for law enforcement, CIT (Crisis Intervention Team), officer well-being and mental health awareness, responding to people with mental illness, crisis management for law enforcement, understanding mental illness for law enforcement, emotional and psychological disorders, domestic and sexual violence, and understanding 96 hour holds and hospital procedures. In 2016 Jon received an award from the Rock Port, Missouri Chief of Police for going above and beyond the call of duty for providing assistance to a stranded motorist.
Officer Chandler’s friends and family would describe him as compassionate, hardworking, trustworthy, and passionate. These traits help him to excel in his field. Because of Jon’s career, he has gained experience and knowledge of various mental health issues. Officer Chandler is passionate about helping others with their mental health because the effects of mental health reach more than a family, understanding mental health and knowing how to fix the issue can assist in the future of peoples ideals of people with mental health issues, even the ones that cannot be seen. The reach of Mental health can be good for communities and with enough peoples help the whole world.
