A few words
Aaron Newberry is in his 25 th year in law enforcement. Aaron received his Associate of Science Degree in
Law Enforcement, and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Missouri
Southern State University, in Joplin. Aaron graduated from the Missouri Southern Law Enforcement
Academy in 1995, and began his law enforcement career in southwest Missouri. Aaron graduated from
the Western Missouri Regional Police Academy, and began serving Kansas City Metropolitan Area law
enforcement in 1997.
Aaron has worked numerous assignments during his career: including patrol, traffic, D.A.R.E., crime
prevention, public relations, court security, warrant & fugitive apprehension, SWAT, vehicle and facilities
maintenance, press information, breath alcohol program, K-9 handling, safe multi-housing, and
supervision and management.
On The Front Lines
Aaron has been decorated numerous times for outstanding performance in the line of duty, by his employers, as well as other police departments, community service organizations and federal law enforcement agencies; for his work in patrol, SWAT, anti-terrorism, and mental health. Aaron has
received two life-saving awards during his career. Aaron is a member of the Missouri Peace Officers Association (MPOA) and the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
Aaron is a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Officer, and takes great pride in providing resources and positive change to both the citizens he serves, and his fellow first responders. Aaron knows, firsthand, the stresses of emergency services, and is an advocate for providing necessary resources for emergency
responders and their families. Aaron has been an ordained minister since 2009. In 2019, Aaron founded a non-profit peer support group, specifically designed to provide emergency first responders with a safe environment in which they can receive the emotional support and resources they need.
Aaron is truly honored to be involved with Code 1 Wellness, and is excited to be part of an organization that has the amazing potential and opportunity to bring so much positive change to so many people!
